How Chiropractic Care Improves Daily Function

January 31, 2024

I firmly believe that wellness is all-inclusive, hence my business name, “Complete Coaching." While it may start with fitness and nutrition, complete wellness is multifaceted and to truly create a healthy lifestyle, we have to be consistent over the long haul. We don’t expect our cars to run for months and years without regular maintenance; similarly, to take the best care of our bodies, we need to be consistent and measured in our fitness approach. To prevent injury and to be able to function well over the long haul, regular rest days and recovery periods are necessary, stretching is essential, and any fitness program should include a balance of building both cardio endurance and muscular strength.

One component to overall wellness that I have made a practice of for my active (and aging) body is regular chiropractic care. Between exercise and adulting (maintaining a household, keeping up with kids, etc.), it is not uncommon to throw something out of alignment.  Without regular maintenance, what can happen over time is that our bodies (joints, muscles, etc.) adjust and compensate for these misalignments. Sometimes that’s a good and helpful thing, but often these kinds of compensations can lead to a variety of issues and discomfort.

Chiropractic care is based on the idea that your body is made to heal itself with the help of specific manipulations from trained professionals. These manipulations help realign your spine (and subsequent nervous system) and joints and can lead to pain relief and optimal overall body functioning. The overall goal of chiropractic care is to improve musculoskeletal health, which impacts your daily functioning and quality of life.

Personally, regular chiropractic care has helped me manage and almost completely alleviate migraine headaches, as well as keep me in alignment and firing on all cylinders as I am extremely active day to day recording workout videos, coaching, training and playing pickup basketball and soccer with my kids!
