Five of My Favorite Things at 40

February 14, 2024

Things look a little different now than they did 10 or 20 years ago, including what’s on my bathroom counter, in my medicine cabinet, pantry and most definitely in my thoughts. With age comes wisdom and usually a little bit of a bigger budget to invest in quality products that you truly love.

Lululemon // I love their shorts & leggings! They are incredibly soft, flattering & comfortable for working out and just everyday athleisure. Highly recommend the investment - they last forever too!!

Shea Moisture Baby Lotion // I wish I found this lotion years ago! I know this is baby lotion, but that’s why it’s so great for you and me, too! It’s full of clean, safe ingredients, so smooth, smells wonderful, and truly keeps my skin hydrated. It’s also great for sensitive skin!

Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups // you might think, “really??” YES, really!! It’s difficult to find something sweet that isn’t terrible for you. These bite size candies are made from high quality cocoa beans & peanut butter, which is actually good for you, and they only have 5 grams of sugar each. I make sure to snag a container of these every time I shop at Trader Joe’s.

Norwex Cleaning Cloths & Revive Essential Oils // over the last several years I’ve started paying closer attention to the chemicals I use in our home (cleaning supplies, makeup, personal care items, laundry detergent, etc.) The home items that have stuck over the years are Norwex microfiber cloths - they are embedded with micro silver and allow me to clean better, faster and safer - with JUST WATER!  Their products also go hand-in-hand with essential oils, which I love for a variety of reasons - I incorporate them with my skin care, diffuse them in the air and use them for laundry - instead of harmful chemicals.

Coffee Recipe // After 40 years and a long coffee journey to this point, I’ve finally created my very own healthy coffee recipe that I drink every morning. I can’t be the only one who looks forward to their coffee each morning, am I?! If you still have a traditional coffee maker, try THIS recipe - you won’t look back:

  • Good beans (I grind my own - local or organic are best)
  • Add with your coffee grounds:
  • A pinch of sea or pink salt to cut any bitterness
  • ground turmeric (anti-inflammatory)
  • ground cinnamon (anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, great for digestion and regulating blood sugar)
  • Brew and enjoy!
